Pune (Havelinama Online) Shirur-Haveli MLA Ashok Pawar in his budget session raised some issues regarding the provision of basic amenities for the developing villages in Shirur Haveli constituency. Therefore, he demanded that the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) fund, which is applicable in cities, Loni kalbhor, kadamwakwasti,Uruli Kanchan and Theur, these villages, should be made available. MLA Pawar said that this fund was available only in cities but as slums were growing in big cities which were developing as suburbs of cities, it was necessary to set up multi-storied buildings to make them slum-free suburbs.
He also demanded in the assembly that the police station of rural police department has been sanctioned at Uruli Kanchan, one of the villages in East Haveli, which was recently connected to Pune city. Even today there is a lot of confusion among the citizens regarding the villages which will be included in the police station at Urali Kanchan. Various discussions are being held regarding the police personnel available after the approval and the population of the villages coming under it.
After the inclusion of Wagholi village in the Pune Municipal Corporation, MLA Pawar demanded in the assembly that additional funds be made available by the government to provide basic facilities to the citizens of the village. The Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has given a positive decision in this regard.
